FAQs
I'm not sure where to begin. Is that okay?
More than okay. It's exactly why Jackie started this conversation. Come to the free workshop first, ask every question you have, and decide from there. No pressure, no pitch.
Do I need a massage qualification already?
Yes, a Certificate or Diploma in Massage Therapy (Whole Body Massage, Swedish, Remedial, or Manual Lymphatic Drainage all count). Don't have one yet? Get in touch and Jackie can point you to a trusted provider.
What if I'm not ready to commit to the full 12 weeks yet?
Then don't. Not yet. Join the conversation with Jackie first. It's free, it's an hour, and it's the easiest way to find out if this path is really yours before you commit to anything bigger.
Will I be covered by insurance to practice this in Australia?
Jamu postpartum bodywork isn't separately regulated here, so most practitioners run it under their existing massage or bodywork insurance and scope of practice. Every insurer is a little different, so part of the training is helping you understand exactly what you're offering and how to talk it through with your own insurer, so you're properly covered before you take your first booking.
I've paid for certifications before that didn't lead anywhere. How is this different?
That's such a fair thing to be wary of, and Jackie hears it often. This isn't a weekend download or a PDF you skim once. It's 12 weeks, live coaching, real assessments, an in-person retreat and an on-the-job training day, because a certificate on its own was never going to make anyone feel ready. Observed practice and real feedback will. If you're still unsure, that's exactly what the free workshop is for, so ask Jackie directly before you commit to anything.
What's the investment, and will it pay for itself?
Pricing and enrollment details are shared personally, on a call with Jackie, so you get the full picture and can ask every question first. As a reference point, Jackie's full 10-session Jamu postpartum package is $2,400 AUD, so a handful of mothers cared for goes a long way toward your investment. To keep pricing consistent and protect the market for every Nurture by Touch practitioner, you'll price your Jamu care in line with Jackie's own rate.
Do I have to travel for the in-person retreat?
Yes, the in-person retreat is a core part of the training. It's where the Sacred Massage Sequence and the hands-on skills really land in your body, not just your notes. Dates and location are shared with your enrollment, and Jackie keeps it as accessible as she can. If travel is a genuine barrier for you, reach out before enrolling. She'd rather talk it through with you directly. You'll also receive three manuals to support you: your SOPs, your Code of Conduct, Ethics & Health and Safety guide, and the comprehensive JAMU Innate Postpartum Care Manual.
